Pia van Spaendonck studied at the Academy of fine arts in Breda and accordingly started as a fashion photographer in Amsterdam where she worked for many leading fashion magazines. She participated in the exhibition “Fashion” in the Municipal Museum in The Hague in 1985 with five other photographers. For ten years, Pia lived and worked in Paris where she photographed, among others, for Madame Figaro, Lidewij Edelkoort, 100 Idées etc. Now she focuses on interior- and garden photography and her free work. For Pia everything has a soul, which she tries to capture. The light and the preservation of simplicity always play the largest role. Minimizing ballast she works and looks very precise and disciplined; light, composition, and balance. That has to be right.
