In 1999, Lone and her husband Bjarne took over the old fisherman’s house – including the adjoining smokehouse – located in the harbor of Gershøj in Denmark. It was a ramshackle house and measured only 740 ft2 (69 m2) at that time. The couple designed their dreamhouse based on the old fisherman’s house. Bjarne is a carpenter so he was able to fulfil many of Lone’s ideas for the house, and they moved into their house just half a year later. Lone has always been into interior design and creative projects, and her talents are displayed throughout the house. The home has a fantastic and cosy atmosphere and it has been furnished with lots of personal and beloved items. Furniture and bric-a-brac are a mixture of new and old. She combines all the white elements with lots of wicker baskets in natural colours, rustic plank tables and cosy textiles, and all these things create this marvelous atmosphere here in the house by the water.
