Wood plays an absolute leading role in the new-build home of Sylvie, Peter and their three sons. A nod to the French chalet in which they lived for ten years. They wanted a simple and open architecture with large windows because the inside and outside had to merge. Peter likes a sleek, Sylvie a warm Scandinavian style with lots of second-hand stuff. They agreed that he the exterior of the house was his part and that she could do her thing with the interior. Sylvie believes that a contemporary house can feel rather chilly and to offer a counterweight she choose to bring in warmth. She has chosen for cement tiles and zelliges, rattan and other vintage furniture and carpets.
