Dutch Oda and André bought an old farmhouse that was built more than 300 centuries ago. The house has a tremendous history, even Napoleon stayed here for a while. “I like the atmosphere of a farm, its always cozy. But the first time we visited this farm, my first reaction was to turn around and never come back again.” The house was abandoned years ago and was in a very poor condition. With a collapsed roof and various other structural damage. But unlike his wife, André thought this could be their one and only chance to buy a farm for a reasonable price. “As soon as we received the key, we started a big renovation project that took us months and almost all our savings.” When the renovation projection came to an end, Oda was tipped about flea markets in the villages around them. “At first I thought: old rubbish, but when I took a closer look, I saw the most beautiful items stored under the market stalls and in between other merchandise. I found a new passion: brocante!” Oda started visiting flea and brocante markets every weekend and collected a whole new interior for her lovely farmhouse.
