Wiel and Marly live in the most southern county of Holland in a traditional local farm style house from 1863. This used to be the house of the local mayor, who also happened to be a farmer. Therefore the building has an authentic upper room, which has been used as a wedding hall for decades. But it also has stables, barns and a haystack. Eighteen years ago Wiel and Marly bought the house and its buildings from an aged farmer. The cows were already gone for years but the stables were still packed and stacked with useless things and there were cobwebs everywhere. But the couple saw the beauty of the building, a hidden gem. They started a renovation and opened a beautiful antique shop in the stables. “We travel to Belgium and France to buy unique pieces for our collection. With just a few inspiring objects we create a personal atmosphere; that’s why the shop belongs to our home and vice versa.” Wiel and Marly always search for special wooden furniture and rare objects.
