In a small village on the countryside in Drenthe, Kris and Corine own a 100-year-old farmhouse. The outside is still like a century ago, while the interior has been completely renovated in the most sustainable way. The walls are filled with straw and loam-plastered, giving a healthy atmosphere. Moreover the isolation is wonderful, both during hot summers and cold winters. Kris and Corine used a lot of natural materials, mostly from the direct surroundings. The staircase banisters come directly from the tree girth adjacent the garden. This garden itself provides the family with vegetables, eggs, herbs, nuts, a rainwater system and many delicious fruits.
