Renske and Michel became parents of Sef (5) living on 55 square meters and Flo joined almost 2 years ago. Despite the children, they really wanted to continue living in Amsterdam – that automatically meant that living small was a given. More than a year ago, the house became too small so they decided to move Borneo Island to a quieter “family minded” residential area. They love their new home with more space but also enjoy their inner garden, where the kids play almost daily and which is an extension of the living room in the summer. When they bought the house they wanted to sand the floors and a renovation of the kitchen. They have deliberately no upper cabinets in order to radiate peace and space. They had still money left from the sale of their other house and they used it for a make-over of the bathroom. They have approached this as simply as possible with a vintage washbasin as an eye-catcher. A playful floor tile to make it warmer and more personal.
