Marlies lives with her 22 year old daughter Dagmar in a dike house from 1874 in the beautiful village called Rossum, The Netherlands. After a renovation of 3 months they were able to move to live here. Marlies: “Sometimes you enter a house and then you know it. Something with the friendly atmosphere in this house, the spaces and the nostalgic protective feeling make this feel my home.” To create space for the kitchen they had to demolish and remove the toilet and bathroom that were situated at that spot. Now it is her favourite place of the house. Her carefully chosen furniture, which should not cost too much money, gives the interior a special touch. She found them at Market place, construction sites, markets during her holidays and old stuff from neighbourhoods that are demolished. It turned into a combination of retro and industrial items.
