Artist Birgitta de Vos likes to surround herself with space, tranquility, emptiness and beauty. She finds this in Berkelland in Gelderland where she lives and works with her husband. The converted farmhouse on the quiet flat land is minimally furnished and has white light spaces almost stripped of colour but surrounded by a green landscape. The spaces are filled with the things she makes and finds in nature. Black, white, brown, beige and gray is her dominant palette. By constantly making choices and drawing boundaries, she creates peace and overview that she needs. And that goes for the spaces in which she lives, as well as for the free work that Brigitte makes, as well as for her books.
