That a journey can give your life a whole new twist is demonstrated once again by the story of Anke and Geert. They fell in love with Norway and had their own stylish and cozy “hytte” built there. “We can ski in our back yard.” Unlike an architect, I worked from the inside out. I determined which furniture should be there and I draw the cabin around it. There had to be a covered terrace and I had also thought about the views, “says Anke. She and Geert had already studied and measured many cabins thoroughly, which made the design easier. Wherever she could, Anke integrated Norwegian elements such as the “floating beds” in the rooms, the grass roof and the graying wood on the outside.
