The village of Gaastmeer is located in the middle of the Frisian Lakes region in The Netherlands. Here is the farm “Attema-Sate” from the Burgers family located. The new owners have moved from the center of the country to Friesland to start a “new” life there. The four children now live somewhere else but the farm forms the basis for the family. This farm is a national monument from 1770 and is really situated on a fantastic location. The farm was rebuilt with the help of an architect in 2017-2018 with great patience and care. Four beautiful, modest guest rooms have been created in the barn and in the ridge of the barn. The volumes that have been made new in the barn do not touch the original bintwork anywhere, the old and the new world are separated and yet form one. The apartments exude a pure and tranquil atmosphere. Sober but comfortable.
