One of the most elegant canal houses in Amsterdam, restored to perfection. The couple that live here for a little more than 3 year, have done an amazing job. With 6 windows overlooking one of the most prestigious canals in Amsterdam and as a surplus an ” achterhuis” which is like a small house behind the main house. The living has an ornamented ceiling, symbolizing the aspects of live, like justice, love etc. It dates back from 1760 and the colours are the same as they used in those days. The walls are covered with a silk and linen mix in a shade of grey. There are only a few skilled craftsmen that have the technique to cover walls with precious fabric like this. The fabric is from Le Lievre in Paris. Designer chairs are a key item, for instance the one of Pierre Moulin and Mies van der Rohe.
