Facing a Japanese garden in the ground of a chateau, a restored ancient mill welcomes visitors to enjoy its magical atmosphere. It’s not everyday that you can experience a stay in an ancient water mill. There is something truly magical about this one. You will find it in the grounds of the Chateau de Courances, about one hour away from Paris. Called simply ‘The Moulin’, it is one of the ‘Hameau de Courances’, a collection of properties that have been painstakingly restored to their original glory by the company Pierres d’Histoire which specialises in restoring abandoned historical houses and giving them a new lease of life as luxurious holiday homes.
