Ten years ago this couple bought the white church from 1908 in the village of Frisian Tijnje. The church was already converted into a house in 1995 so the biggest renovation work had already been done. They are residents number 4 since the destination of the small prayer house has changed. It had already been extensively renovated but Onno and Maaike also tackled the roof and floor. It also had to be insulated and the bathroom was renovated. It was quite a search for the right decor with such large dimensions and few right angles, but over the years, they succeeded. Maaike is mainly inspired by foreign accounts on social media, which means that a mix of all kinds of cultures has emerged, un-Dutch! But also from holiday homes and visits to museums, Maaike gets plenty of ideas.
