Just over 10 years ago, Marie Charlotte and Karsten decided to leave the city of Keulen and opt for more space in the German countryside. They bought a farm which dates from around 1850 near the border with the Netherlands. The farm was already well renovated, but not according to their taste. A lot has changed over the years. They were always moving indoors, while rooms were refurbished. A new wooden floor, the layout changed, there was a new staircase and kitchen. Marie Charlotte is the creative brain and Karsten the enthusiastic co-executor. The farm has a large indoor barn that is really packed with vintage finds and special relics, which Marie Charlotte – if necessary in her eyes – provides with a new colour. The colour palette in the house is constantly changing, like a living painting!
