The house of Bastiaan, Anita and their 5 children was built in 2015. Throughout the designing proces they kept in close contact with their architect Jan de Wit. He, being a father himself, understood their need for a functional family home without it being as standard as most houses. The big amount of windows makes the house feel light and spacious and due to the glass floors, daylight even reaches the basement. When they moved in, everything was white and it stayed that way for nearly a year. They really wanted to get to know the house, the way light falls in and how they would use the space before they started decorating. Anita chose white, black statement walls and accents, cognac-colored leather and greenery as basis. Thanks to the huge amount of daylight that gets in, the plant collection is doing great inside and it soon grew into their own urban jungle.
