After living for several years in Brussels, Maaike and her husband Patrick decided to move to the Netherlands. Breda was obvious, with Belgium at your doorstep. At first glance, Maaike was not really fond of the old manor house that was for sale. She found the façade of the house not very attractive. But upon entering she felt that the house suited them and there were plenty of opportunities. The property is 16 meters deep and consists of a room en-suite, which made the space too dark in the middle section. They decided to place the kitchen in the heart of the home. The sitting room and the dining room, they moved to respectively the front room and the back room. The meters high glass doors at the back let in plenty and offer a great view to the garden. When it gets dark, the garden is lit with spotlights, making it one with the house.
