Not everyone has time or is willing to start a major reconstruction as Roos and Rutger did with their house. Seventeen years ago the couple was looking for a new home when this farm, built at the end of 1700, crossed paths with them. “The farm was in its original state and we saw that it had a lot overdue maintenance. But nevertheless it was love at first sight, as this lovely old building also had many advantages. Like the beautiful fenestration, the original cupboard beds, an attached barn which could become a big living room with a family kitchen, a lot of space in and around the house and its location was a big plus: right in the center of the village!” At first Roos and Ruther made the house habitable, later they started a renovation process of several years. The style of their interior has also grown during those years. “It’s a mix of Rutger and Roos. With family pieces, art, design, brocante and toys of our children. This is not a showroom or an anonymous décor…this is our home!”
