For years, Maricia and Ernst regularly walked past their dream home, but when it was for sale, they doubted. But dreams have to be chased so they took the gamble and bought the house. The first thing they did was making the house energy neutral. They both like to re-use, all their collected furniture and accessories creates a unique very personal interior style. For instance: the old work desk of Ernst’s grandfather now serves as a dresser, the piano of his mother, an Artifort chair has been revitalized with yellow upholstery and the bench of the previous resident has gained a new place in the living room. There is a classic chesterfield bench, the carpet is saved from the neighbour’s container. The living room is a high space and because of the many windows it feels like a loft and creates an ultimate outdoor feeling. The new construction fits well with the rest of the house. For Maricia and Ernst it was very important that the shape of the building reinforced the existing house.
