Fieneke (55) and her husband were not deterred by the fact that the house was dark, dated and worn out and the garden no more than a lawn with borders full of weeds. They did see opportunities with this beautiful spot in the picturesque northern Groningen town of Feerwerd. In less than three years, the gravel surface at the entrance has been replaced by a lush flower field, the borders are filled with colourful picking flowers and the thoroughly renovated house has become pleasantly light and open. The interior exudes a tough, rural atmosphere with a feminine touch. The new garden room is surrounded by very old apple trees, they filter the sunlight and provides pleasant cooling.
