Sun and her husband Sebas don’t live in a restored farm or a monumental mansion, but in average detached house in a suburb of a Frisian village. It is her father-in-law Marten, a retired carpenter, who has two right hands and enough free time to give the house the atmosphere Sun loves so much: Dutch design with a Nordic twist. They bought the building plot eleven years ago and a developer build a shell-state house on it. As soon as they received the keys Sun started to make plans for the interior and Marten started finishing the house. Sun designed build-in-cupboards with en-suite doors, a covered veranda, tables, beds and Marten started breaking, beating, drilling, sawing, grinding and milling. The result is a perfect and spacious family home, with a typical Frisian-Scandinavian touch.
