Ever since her childhood Rotterdam artist Liesbeth has had a ‘crush on nature’. She looked for a way to show people the beauty of weeds and common wild plants. In her glass panels she captures the beauty of dried hedge vines, poppies and comfrey. As soon as the colors fade, the real beauty of their shape and structure come to light. She designs unique glass (bathroom)doors and windows these way, like in her own home. She also creates a new, marble-like material for interior objects using plants and casting resin. Liesbeth harvests her plants around her studio and home, a former bathing house on the monumental Quarantine area in the port of Rotterdam. There she makes collections of small nature treasures that inspirer her. Like the little kingfisher which she found in her basement one day.
