This beautiful monumental house of Anneke and Feike is situated in the north of the Netherlands. It was built in 1918 on a lovely spot, has Jugendstil as well as Art Nouveau elements and its interior…it is bright, light, natural and almost obvious; the light elements bring out the best of the lovely old house. Anneke was a teacher at the local secondary school and asked her pupils to inform her if a nice house came for sale. It was during their summer holidays that a girl phoned and informed them about this property. The beauty of the house and the architectural style overwhelmed the couple. They loved each and every detail. The house was build by a rich farmer family who wanted to live here after their retirement. It was, even for those days, very fashionable with different style elements and lovely spacious rooms.”
