Annabel and Martin bought this former Haarlem pharmacy in 2013. It had already been extensively renovated. However, the kitchen in the front of the house was cold and the extension behind was not to their taste so they decided to tackle first the ground floor two years ago. The floor went out for underfloor heating, the kitchen moved to the back and the extension got a sliding door to their taste. They had an en-suite built with metal sliding doors and a lot of storage space. The children’s rooms also got a facelift with a custom-made wardrobe and bed. The non-Dutch Annabel has lived all over the world as a child and adult in the most unexpected places. Colourful countries, from food to decoration, have fully influenced her style. Martin likes comfortable industrial the concrete floor with underfloor heating is a good example. He doesn’t like average, he likes her playful input. Fortunately, their tastes often matches. As long as it’s not too strict! That surfboard looks great in the kitchen.
