With small pieces of paper, threads, buttons, stones the hands of Claire’s creates all kinds of figures.. mice, elephants, dancers. All that comes to life in her fairytale “Maison bourgeoise” in Bordeaux. It was built in 1897. The house was almost falling apart when Claire walked in there one summer evening…no electric heating…in other words…a very big job to get it fixed so she could move in. The stately home has been refurbished, but that whole 19th century atmosphere has not been touched and has remained there because Claire wants it to. She loves that and needs to keep that past glory with her.
