On an wooded estate in the heart of the Netherlands, florist Marieke lives in an charming old yellow and white farmhouse. Hundred years ago, the attick above the old ox stable was the place were the farmer dried his hay and tobaccoleaves. Today the interior suits the estate’s history perfectly. Marieke created a romantic, light yet warm base where family pieces and treasures from fleamarkets are carefully mixed. Flowers steal the show in every room, fresh from the garden in bunches on vases or twisted into original arrangements. Marieke picks them every day from the garden she lovingly designed herself. She created sightlines from every room in the house, so each windowframe reveals another lively flowerpicture. By the end of summer, the flowerbeds are bulging with Dahlia’s, Gladioles, Salvia’s, roses, berries and lushious perrenials for arranging her natural arrangement.
