At the Prunushof, gardeners Anny and Jan have there own Cherry Blossom Festival every spring. At the former nursery they have collected over 90 species of Japanese cherry trees (Prunus). From march to the end of may the borders turn in all shades of pink and white when de trees bloom. From a distance, each tree crown looks like a woolly pink cloud. Up close you will discover that the flowers of each species are slightly different in colour, shape, pattern and stamens. The trees all have their own character too and often tell a beautiful Japanese story. Once the bloom is over, the petals swirl like confetti over early bloomers like daffodils, Euphorbia and Helleborus.
