Mariëlle and her husband Kees live in a farmhouse from 1840 that they have thoroughly renovated. “True happiness is not about having a nice house, but it is wonderful to live in a nice place,” says Mariëlle. “Our farm is really us and we hope everyone feels welcome.” During the holidays, the house is immersed in a subdued Christmas atmosphere and meals are eaten at a long table with all the children and grandchildren living away”.
