Peggy and Mirjam travelled to the south of Sweden in search for beautiful finds. On almost any country road the blue-and-yellow flags wave at ‘Loppis’ signs. A Loppis is the Swedish equivalent for a ‘Vide Greniers’. It is an abbreviation of Loppismarknad meaning flea market. You can find stands in people’s homes, a large market in villages, or on sports grounds and old factory halls. One finds often farmers antique; whitewashed cabinets and tables, flaked off bars chairs but also piles of flowers dishes, old Swedish glassware and garden antiques. In the small villages of the region sometimes a supermarket is hard to find but ‘loppis’ and ‘antik’ you see everywhere.
