In 1999 René and Juliette converted a bicycle cart into a real mobile mini kitchen, ‘De Veldkeuken’. This allowed them to cook in the field with ingredients from the field. Just like now, they made everything themselves, including the bread and cake. Hikers enjoyed a hearty bowl of soup and told them what they had spotted along the way. They have now grown into a sizable field kitchen team and have a bakery as well. ‘De Veldkeuken” uses the strength of the estate and the qualities of the region. When choosing their suppliers, they look for companies that, just like them, work with care and love on their products.
